Polish singer into Eurovision final

Polish singer Kasia Moś advanced to the finals of the Eurovision song contest during the semifinals in Kiev on Tuesday.

Moś, singing an original song entitled 'Flashlight', was one of ten acts during the first semifinal round to qualify for the finals, which will be held on Saturday.

Following her performance on Tuesday, Moś paid tribute to the other acts that didn't make it to the final.

“There were so many great performances in the first semifinal,” she was quoted as saying. Asked what advice she had for upcoming artists, she replied: “Be yourself, be honest, surround yourself with amazing people and positive energy.”

Other countries which qualified for the finals included Australia, Moldova, Armenia and Sweden.

According to the Eurovision website, Moś was born in 1987 into an artistic family. She released her debut album, Inspination, in 2015.

The album can be described as a mix of electronic and soul with elements of pop music. She has participated in the Polish selection for the Eurovision Song Contest three times, in 2006 with the song 'I Wanna Know', in 2016 with' Addiction' and finally in 2017 with 'Flashlight'. She is currently working on a new album. (rg/pk)
