The ski-resort town of Zakopane, in Poland’s south, is home to what is believed to be the world’s biggest snow labyrinth.

Its corridors have a combined length of more than a kilometre and cover an area of 2,600 square metres.

It took a group of 15 highlanders almost a month to build.

They used 3 million litres of water in the process.

A special commission is to decide if the structure deserves an entry in the Guinness Books of Records.

The current record has been held since 15 February, 2015, by Canadians who constructed a snow labyrinth covering an area of 1,700 square metres. (mk/vb)
