Klara Kochańska’s graduation film “Lokatorki” (Tenants) won in the “foreign narrative” category.
It tells the story of Justyna, a single woman in her thirties, who buys an apartment at a bailiff auction.
On the day she chooses to move into her dream home, it turns out that the keys do not work and she cannot enter her apartment. Her dream turns into a nightmare.
Kochańska’s film has already won acclaim at various events, including at the Global Chinese Universities Student Film and TV Festival in Hong Kong.
A record 1,749 films were entered for the latest Student Oscars competition. The awards ceremony will be held at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills on 22 September. (mk/pk)
