The band, which hails from Oxford, first played in Poland 22 years ago with a gig at Warsaw's Stodola Club.

Now in its tenth edition, the festival welcomes about 15,000 revellers each year, many of whom come from overseas.

The event was started by Artur Rojek, former frontman of Polish band Myslovitz, with the aim of providing an offbeat alternative to mainstream festivals.

Besides legends of the UK shoegazing scene Ride, this year's edition saw performances by US rapper IloveMakonnen, The Dillinger Escape Plan and Sun Kil Moon, among others.

Patti Smith is due to wrap up the three-day festival on Sunday night with a performance of her classic 1975 debut LP 'Horses'. (nh/rk)
