The dog, which appears in the film around the 14th minute, is described by daily Gazeta Wyborcza as Poland’s only Oscar-winning mongrel.

Brutus was filmed during shooting on location in his hometown of Zgierz near Łódź in central Poland.

The dog has since been caught after entering a shelter on the trail of two bitches brought in for sterilisation by their homeless owners. He has been castrated, deloused and debugged. Brutus is still awaiting vaccination but is ready for adoption.

The dog remains scared and has not yet barked since being caught by the Fundacja Medor shelter employees, Gazeta Wyborcza reported. (an)
