“For example: The New Polish House” presents images taken by noted architectural photographer Juliusz Sokolowski.

His shots take in buildings by such architects as Robert Konieczny (house pictured above), Piotr Kuczia, and firms Medusa, ARE and HS99.

Curators Agnieszka Rasmus-Zgorzelska and Aleksandra Stepnikowska whittled down candidates to a mere nine, so as to present what they believe shows the right directions for current architects to take, as well as a showcase of Polish architecture to foreign eyes.

The exhibition is being hosted at the Museum of Modern Art in Warsaw's temporary headquarters at Panska Street. A new building, designed by Swiss architect Christian Kerez, was jettisoned in 2012, when the city broke off a contract with him, following to a series of disagreements.

“For example: The New Polish House” runs from 11 July to 28 August. (nh)
