There are also nominations for indie band Hey, singer/songwriter Mela Koteluk and bands Luxtorpeda and Skubas.

Monika Brodka and Maria Peszek have been nominated for awards in the best album, best siong and artist of the year categories at the Polish recording industry awards.

Music journalist Peter Metz has told Polish Radio that it is most gratifying to see that 90 percent of the nominated artists are associated with small, independent labels.

In the jazz category, the favourites for an award are the Atom String Quartet, Henryk Miśkiewicz and Grzech Piotrowski. (pg)
