The gravelly-voiced star will be taking control of the Municipal Stadium in Rybnik, Silesia, following in the footsteps of Guns N' Roses, who played the venue last July.

Dubbed 'Rod the Mod”, the dapper-dressed crooner is best known for hits such as “Maggie May”, “Sailing” and “Do Ya Think I'm Sexy.”

“Rod Stewart has so many hits that he could easily share them with other artists,” enthused event co-organiser Janusz Stefanski of the Prestige MJM Agency, as quoted by the Polish Press Agency (PAP).

“I think it's going to be an unforgettable performance,” he added.

The former Small Faces frontman first played Poland in 2007, during a Gdansk tribute concert connected with the Solidarity Movement.

The tickets for the Rybnik gig will go on sale on 19 March. (nh)
