Shevah Weiss given honorary doctorate

Former Israeli Ambassador to Poland Shevah Weiss has received an honorary doctor’s degree from the Medical University in Lodz.

A citation speaks of his all-round activities and unprecedented contribution to the promotion of Polish-Jewish cultural heritage, history and genuine dialogue.

Born in 1935 in Poland’s former eastern territories, now in Ukraine, Shewach Weiss is a professor in political science.

He was a deputy to the Knesset for many years and served as Israeli ambassador in Warsaw from 2000 to 2003. He has many books on politics and sociology, as well as World War Two to his name. (mk/pg)
