The funds will come from the budget reserve and have been granted on the decree of Prime Minister Donald Tusk.
“Poland is actively participating in international efforts to carry humanitarian aid to the most needy,” reads a Foreign Ministry’s communiqué .
The ministry informed that 1.5 million zloty will be aimed at the famine stricken people in the East Africa region, with the rest of the donation is to be given to Somalia.
Poland had already donated some 1.8 million zloty (450,000 euro) for the people who are suffering as a result of the armed conflict in Libya. (ab/pg)
