Following talks between the two leaders, Trump announced closer military and economic cooperation with Warsaw, hailing the dawn of an “exciting new era in the US-Polish alliance.”

The American embassy in Warsaw in April launched a campaign to help Poland join the US Visa Waiver Program.

The US ambassador to Poland, Georgette Mosbacher, vowed to help lift visas for Poles travelling to America by the end of 2020.

The threshold for a country to enter the US Visa Waiver Program is a 3-percent refusal rate.

Poland, Romania, Bulgaria, Cyprus and Croatia are the only EU member countries not included in the waiver program.
