Among the key points of the plan sent by the Polish government to Brussels on Monday are changes in defence strategy and migration policy, measures to safeguard a competitive common market, moves to stop climate change and a push to “strengthen the democratic legitimization” of the EU, the daily reported.

The EU is set to adopt an official Strategic Agenda for 2019-2024 at a European Council meeting in June.

The Polish plan comes after an informal summit in Romania earlier this month which brought together leaders from 27 EU countries to discuss the bloc's strategy until 2024.
