“During the first day of the meeting, its participants will address issues relating to the situation in the Sea of Azov, the state of transatlantic security and NATO’s engagement in the South,” the Polish foreign ministry said on it website.
Regional tensions escalated after Russia fired on and captured three Ukrainian navy ships in the Sea of Azov near the annexed Crimea peninsula last month.
There are no signs that heightened tensions between Ukraine and Russia pose an increased threat to Poland, the defence minister in Warsaw said last week.
On the second day of their meeting in Brussels, the foreign ministers from NATO states were on Wednesday to discuss the Western Balkans and Afghanistan, the foreign ministry in Warsaw added.
