The 28th annual so-called Utrecht conference is also expected to discuss the European Union.

The foreign ministers are set to open the conference, which traditionally has been attended by experts from both countries.

The annual intergovernmental meetings date back to 1999 when the Netherlands supported Poland's efforts to join the European Union, which happened in 2004.

Since then the meetings have been held annually, hosted alternatively in the Netherlands and Poland.

While in Warsaw, Blok is also expected to visit the headquarters of the European Union's Frontex border agency. (vb/pk)
