Israeli Ambassador to Warsaw Anna Azari said Wrocław was a friendly city, adding that she was glad that Poland was marking 70 years since her country was established.

Wrocław Mayor Rafał Dutkiewicz said that the city's commemorations of the anniversary were a tribute to Israel and the Jewish culture and aimed also to oppose anti-Semitism.

To mark Israeli Independence Day, Wrocław also hosted lectures, film screenings and concerts.
