Russia’s aggressive policy towards the West cannot be ignored, Polish Foreign Minister Jacek Czaputowicz said on Wednesday in a major speech setting out his country’s foreign policy priorities.

Czaputowicz told parliament that political dialogue with Russia should be maintained.
But he added: "Russia is seeking a revision of the political order in Europe which was established after 1989 [when communism collapsed in Poland] and which brought Poland the restoration of independence.”
Czaputowicz told MPs in a wide-ranging speech: “The instruments of achieving this [Russian] goal are the destabilisation of numerous regions ... [which] neighbour Poland, efforts to increase political divisions within individual states, as well as between them, breaking up transatlantic unity, and deepening divisions within the European Union.”
On Friday, Czaputowicz said the Polish authorities were “certain” that Moscow was involved in a suspected nerve agent attack on former Russian spy Sergei Skripal and his daughter Yulia in Britain on March 4.
NATO leaders meeting at a summit of the Western military alliance in Warsaw in July 2016 decided to deploy four multinational battalions to Poland and three Baltic states amid fears of potential Russian aggression following Moscow's annexation of Crimea in 2014.
