Foreign Minister Witold Waszczykowski has also said that now is not the best time to discuss waiving visas for Polish nationals travelling to the US.

Waszczykowski said that too many Poles’ visa applications are being declined, excluding Poland from America’s visa waiver programme, while the US is stepping up its border protection in the wake of terrorism and mass migration threats.

The Polish foreign minister was recently in the US along with the defence minister, and the president, who addressed the United Nations and met with other heads of state in New York last week.

Also recently, the Polish labour minister discussed the European Union’s planned posted worker reforms with her counterpart in Paris and the Polish and French defence ministers discussed security partnership, also in Paris, while the Polish prime minister met her counterpart in Sofia. (vb)
