Polish, Slovak FMs discuss bilateral, EU issues

Polish Foreign Minister Witold Waszczykowski on Tuesday met his Slovak counterpart Miroslav Lajcak in Warsaw to discuss bilateral and European issues.

The two officials talked about relations within the regional Visegrad Group, Britain’s impending exit from the European Union and proposals to reform the bloc, according to Polish Radio’s IAR news agency.
During a joint press conference after the meeting, Waszczykowski said: "We discussed all manner of problems concerning Europe.”
These included security issues and major military drills planned by Russia and Belarus later this month.
The talks also focused on the contentious issue of so-called posted workers, according to Waszczykowski.
Slovakia’s Lajcak said that Polish-Slovak relations are “the best ever,” as reflected by intergovernmental consultations earlier this year.
"Poland is our closest neighbour, and not just geographically," Lajcak declared. (gs/pk)
