The presidents spoke during Aliyev's visit to Warsaw on Tuesday, during which they signed security, energy, transport and transport infrastructure deals.

Duda said the deals were a step towards more intense economic, scientific and political partnership.

“The economic potential of our countries is very large and the trade exchange, today worth USD 100 million (PLN 374 million), is very modest compared to its potential,” Duda said.

Duda also said that a deal which he recently signed to connect Azerbaijan and Poland by rail through Ukraine and Georgia was "exceptionally important" because it aligned with China’s New Silk Road initiative to connect Asia and Europe. (vb/pk)
