“We convey our sincere condolences to the families of the victims, the wounded, the Iraqi Government, and to all who have been affected by the terrorist attacks in Baghdad and Basra. We are firmly opposed to any acts of terror,” the ministry said in a statement.

“Poland will continue to work with the international community with a view to addressing security threats in the Middle East. To that end, we will be playing an active part in efforts of the Global Coalition against Daesh,” the statement said.

At least 36 people were killed and dozens of others injured in two suicide attacks in the Iraqi capital Baghdad and the southern city of Basra on Friday, Iraqi security officials said. (rg)
