Młynarski is an international relations and foreign policy professor at Kraków’s Jagiellonian University, the radio station said.

He is expected to be charged with improving Polish-French relations, which were strained after Warsaw ended talks over the purchase of 50 multi-role helicopters for the Polish army from France-based Airbus Helicopters, and again when, during his election campaign for the French presidency, Emmanuel Macron slammed Poland for "violating" the principles of the EU, according to RMF.

The previous ambassador to France, Andrzej Byrt, was dismissed less than two months into the role, after the Law and Justice (PiS) party took power in a general election in October 2015, the radio station said. (vb/pk)
