Security bureau chief: strong Polish-British relations good for European security

The head of Poland’s National Security Bureau (BBN), Paweł Soloch, has said that strong Polish-British relations serve to "maintain the UK’s participation in Europe's defence system including after it leaves the EU".

Soloch has been on a working visit in the UK since Sunday.
He told PAP after meetings with Alan Duncan, British Minister of State for Europe and the Americas, and with Sir Mark Justin Lyall Grant, national security advisor to PM Theresa May, that Polish-British relations are of particular importance in view of Brexit, and as NATO bolsters its eastern flank.
During a visit to the NATO Allied Maritime Command in Northwood, north-west London, on Tuesday, Soloch is to discuss with Royal Navy Vice Admiral Clive Johnstone conclusions stemming from a recently unveiled strategic concept for Poland’s maritime security.
He is also to pay tribute to Polish airmen who fought in the Battle of Britain in 1940 at the Polish War Memorial in Northolt, west London.
On Wednesday, the last day of the visit, Soloch is to have talks on Polish-British cooperation and Poland’s commitment to NATO at the Allied Rapid Reaction Corps in Gloucester, south-west England.
The BBN is a government agency supporting the Polish president in matters of security and defence. (mol/mk/pk)
