Poland, Ukraine sign defence agreement

Polish Defence Minister Antoni Macierewicz and his Ukrainian counterpart Stepan Poltorak on Friday signed an agreement for the countries' defence ministries and armaments sectors.

Macierewicz said the "partnership agreement" strengthened both countries' armies.
Poltorak said: “This agreement will allow us to reach a totally new level of cooperation between the Polish and Ukrainian defence sectors.”
The agreement was signed as Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko visited Warsaw on the 25th anniversary of Poland recognizing Ukraine’s independence, on 2 December, 1991.
Poland was the first country in the world to take such a step. (vb/pk)
