Norbert Roettgen said in an interview with Polish Radio that the project has no economic justification, and in addition goes against European energy policy.
"Europeans rightly decided that they need to reduce their dependence, above all on Russia, and diversify gas and oil supplies,” Roettgen said.
“This [Nord Stream] project reinforces political and economic dependence" on Russia.
Poland's ruling Law and Justice government has vowed to decrease Poland’s dependence on Russian gas supplies. (pk)
