The study by pollster CBOS found 52 percent of respondents were in favour of Poland supporting countries fighting the Islamic State. But 72 percent said such support should not be military.

And 79 percent of people polled said they feared that the involvement of Polish troops in operations against Islamic radicals could result in terrorist attacks in Poland.

The poll was carried out 30 June - 7 July, asking 983 adults for their views. (pk)
