The meeting focused on Polish-Jewish and Polish-Israeli relations, as well as the situation in the Middle East, notably the prospects for resuming the peace process there.

Waszczykowski said: “We should continue working together to ensure that the victims of German crimes during World War II are not mistaken for their perpetrators.”

The Anti-Defamation League has repeatedly criticized the use of the phrase “Polish camps” in reference to the death camps run by the Nazi Germans on occupied Polish territory during World War II, stressing that blaming Poles for the Holocaust is an unjustified distortion of historical facts.

Representatives of the Anti-Defamation League declared their readiness to further support Poland in defence of historical truth.

Waszczykowski also referred to last week’s speech by Polish President Andrzej Duda, who said that “in a free, sovereign and independent Poland, there is no place for prejudices, for racism, xenophobia and anti-Semitism”. (mk/pk)
