The ministers exchanged views on future possible scenarios for the EU.

Minister Waszczykowski informed Steinmeier that he will be attending the planned consultations of Visegrad Group foreign ministers that will be held in Prague early on Monday. The meeting will be also attended by the German minister.

Polish-UK relations

Earlier on Saturday, Waszczykowski spoke to UK Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond to discuss the bilateral relations of the two countries in both the short and long terms.

Waszczykowski emphasised during the conversation that Poland respects the decision of UK citizens. He also stressed that the UK continues to be an important partner for Poland.

Foreign Secretary Hammond reaffirmed that the referendum outcome will not affect the status of Poles living in the United Kingdom, which continues to be an active international actor, including within the North Atlantic Alliance.

Poland takes over the presidency of the Visegrad Group as of 1 July.
