President Duda will attend the Nuclear Security Summit in the US capital between 31 March and 1 April.

During the summit, he is expected to meet with the presidents of Turkey, Ukraine and Georgia.

Presidential aide Krzysztof Szczerski told the PAP news agency that the visit by Andrzej Duda has two main objectives.

“The first,” he said, “is to participate in a meeting of dozens of world leaders and talk about nuclear safety in military and civilian contexts.”

“The second goal concerns Poland. The president will meet with people of influence in Washington and present Poland's point of view on international security issues, as well as discuss [the country's] expectations of the NATO summit in Warsaw,” Szczerski added.

Warsaw is expected to host a NATO Summit in July. (rg)
