Pole wanted for murder in US arrested

A 30-year-old Polish man who had been placed on Interpol's most wanted list has been arrested in Brzesko, southern Poland, in connection with a murder committed in the United States.

Piotr W. (name withheld under Polish privacy laws) allegedly beat and robbed a man in Cook County, Illinois, in 2010, together with an accomplice.
The victim later died as a result of his injuries.
Polish police say that Piotr W. had been living on a housing estate in the town of Brzesko.
A decision on whether to extradite him will be taken by a court in the city of Tarnów, southern Poland. (nh/pk)
