Waszczykowski stressed that the draft agreement presented by European Council President Donald Tusk will “require careful analysis”.

“There are many issues that we need to know and calculate. However, from what we know, these are proposals which will not apply to those Poles already living in the UK, these are proposals aimed at the future. Therefore, all those Poles who are currently living in the UK will not be affected by any restrictions,” Waszczykowski told a press briefing in Warsaw.

On Tuesday, European Council President Donald Tusk published a draft EU renegotiation plan for the UK.

“The draft decision […] notes, in particular, the Commission's intention to propose changes to EU legislation as regards the export of child benefits and the creation of a safeguard mechanism to respond to exceptional situations of inflow of workers from other member states,” reads a letter by Tusk to all EU member states.

Waszczykowski said that the details of the proposal will be discussed by Polish Prime Minister Beata Szydło and Cameron during the latter’s planned trip to Warsaw on Friday. (rg/pk)
