The man's body was found on Mount Talgar, and preliminary findings indicate that the tourist died from hypothermia.
It is understood that the man set off on a solo hike on Sunday, but apparently did not inform anyone beforehand which direction he would be going in.
According to local media, 45 rescue workers took part in the search.
The man's body will be transported by helicopter to a local medical centre. (nh/pk)
