The visit was announced by the largest Hungarian news portal, vs.hu, and was later confirmed by Poland's governing Law and Justice party in an interview with the Polish PAP press agency.
It is understood that Orban will meet head of the Law and Justice party, Jarosław Kaczyński, and Polish Prime Minister Beata Szydło at the castle museum of Niedzica in southern Poland.
The Law and Justice party, which won the 25 October general election, has cultivated contacts with Orban's conservative Fidesz party for many years, seeing it as kindred spirit in the region.
When Law and Justice lost the Polish general election in 2011, Kaczyński stressed his admiration for the Hungarian government.
“I am deeply convinced that the day will come when it will work out for us and we will have Budapest in Warsaw,” he said on election night on 9 October 2011.
The Niedzica castle has both Hungarian and Polish heritage, and it was inhabited by a Hungarian noble family until the end of WWII. It is currently a public museum. (nh/pk)
