A Polish man was arrested in Copenhagen on Monday after apparently stealing a hotel safe containing a hoard of cash and jewellery belonging to popular Chinese actress Liu Tao.
It has been reported that the safe contained high-end jewellery to the value of DDK 4 million (EUR 536, 098).
The 33-year-old man is pleading guilty to the crime, and he has been preliminarily jailed for thirteen days.
However, he has denied that he knew who the hotel room belonged to, or what was in the safe.
He has likewise argued that there was less cash in the safe than the actress had claimed.
The actress was apparently in Copenhagen to promote a Danish shoe brand. (nh)
