“The visit is connected with the celebration of the 75th anniversary of the Battle of Britain. This visit is symbolic, emphasising the historical and contemporary contribution of Poles in British history,” presidential aide Krzysztof Szczerski told the PAP news agency ahead of the visit.

On Tuesday, President Duda will meet in Lancaster House with Polish veterans and participants of World War II living in the UK.

On the second day of the UK visit, the Polish head of state will also take part in the 75th anniversary celebrations of the Battle of Britain in the Cathedral of St. Paul's in London with the participation of Prime Minister David Cameron and Prince Edward. (rg/rk)
