Next year’s NATO summit in Warsaw, the future of Poland’s policy towards its eastern neighbours and the promotion of Poland’s candidacy for a non-permanent seat on the UN Security Council – these are some of the topics on the agenda of a conference of Polish ambassadors which has opened in Warsaw.
It has brought together about 90 Polish diplomats serving in all continents as well as those who are just about to commence their posts abroad.
The agenda also includes the promotion of Polish economy and ways and means of supporting Polish companies in foreign markets.
A Foreign Ministry spokesperson has said that this is an annual opportunity to sum up the developments in Polish foreign policy and talk about future tasks and challenges.
The guest of honour at the conference is the Foreign Minister of the Netherlands, Bert Koenders. He will present his country’s view on the current challenges in global politics on Wednesday.
On Tuesday the ambassadors will have a meeting with President Bronisław Komorowski. (mk/rg)
