“I want to invite you to the next NATO summit in Warsaw in 2016,” Bronislaw Komorowski said on Friday.

“It will be a very interesting experience as this [Poland] was where the organisation of the Warsaw Pact appeared some time ago and where its existence was overthrown,” Komorowski told journalists.

NATO chief Anders Fogh Rasmussen agreed that Warsaw would be a good place to host a summit as it would “send a strong signal of Polish involvement in the alliance and a very visible presence by NATO in the eastern regions of that alliance”. (pg)
