The Polish couple who died on Saturday after falling from a cliff in Cabo da Raca, west Portugal, may have been taking a selfie when the accident occurred.

Captain Dario Pinto Moreira, who is in charge of the port at nearby Cascais, told Portuguese news channel CMTV that the Poles slipped while trying to take a photograph of themselves.
The bodies have now been recovered after initial attempts on Saturday were hampered by adverse conditions.

The couple's young children, aged 5 and 6, witnessed the accident and are currently under psychiatric care.
According to Monika Dulian, Poland's consul in Lisbon, the family had been living in Portugal for several years.
She said the children's closest relatives have been contacted and that they are due to arrive in Portugal.
The couple apparently crossed a safety barrier in order to reach the cliff edge, but Dulian said she had no details of the accident, adding that the police are leading an investigation.
Emergency services were tipped off on Saturday evening by a Spanish couple. Attempts to recover the bodies were suspended on Saturday night after the rising tide hampered the operation, but the action was successfully completed on Sunday. (nh)
