Polish dentists join missionaries in Cameroon

Two Polish dentists are embarking on a charitable project in the Republic of Cameroon, central-west Africa, to offer treatment to the local population.

They will be based at the Polish Catholic mission of Abong Mbang, which has at its disposal a well-equipped dental clinic.
They will also travel to remote villages in the area with no access to dental care.
The ‘Dentist in Africa’ project is the brainchild of the Poznań-based Redemptoris Missio Foundation and is financed jointly by the foundation and the Polish Foreign Ministry.
The dentists work on a voluntary basis, without any financial remuneration. After three months, they are replaced by another team.
For Konrad Rylski, a member of the current team of dentists, this is his fifth time in Cameroon.
The ‘Redemptoris Missio’ Foundation for Humanitarian Aid was established in 1992. Its goal is to provide professional support for Polish missionaries offering medical services in the world’s poorest regions. The Foundation sends Polish doctors and nurses on foreign missions as well as medical equipment and medicines. (mk/nh)
